Oluremi Tinubu backs Oyebanji’s re-election, urging Ekiti residents to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second-term bid ahead of the June 20 governorship election while announcing a N100 million empowerment grant for 2,000 women in the state
Speaking at a women’s gathering held at the Ekitikete Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, the wife of the President thanked residents for supporting the Oyebanji administration and encouraged them to vote for the APC governorship candidate in the upcoming poll.
Tinubu also unveiled a N100 million grant scheme for women, explaining that 2,000 beneficiaries would receive N50,000 each to strengthen their businesses. She stressed that the support was a grant and not a loan.
The First Lady further expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and said she would return to Ekiti to campaign for his re-election in 2027. She added that Nigeria would achieve greater progress if the President secures a second term.
Earlier, Tinubu inaugurated an Information and Communication Technology Centre at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, through her Renewed Hope Initiative.
Governor Oyebanji described the First Lady’s visit and interventions as proof of her commitment to the welfare of Nigerians. He also thanked President Tinubu for supporting his administration, noting that federal assistance had helped the state record achievements in healthcare, road construction, employment, and other sectors.
