Yari Assures Nigerians Tinubu Will Keep Campaign Promises

Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, the newly appointed Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu will fulfil his campaign promises. He said the party would build its 2027 campaign on credibility and trust.

Yari spoke on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Jubilant APC supporters welcomed him after he returned from an overseas trip. It was his first public appearance since the announcement of his appointment a day earlier.

The former Zamfara State governor said the APC would honour its promises to Nigerians. He said the party’s credibility would depend on its ability to deliver on its commitments.

Yari said the APC would keep its campaign promises and expressed confidence in Tinubu’s return as president in 2027.

“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during the campaign, we shall keep. Today we have seen him Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President, and by God’s grace he shall be the President come 2027,” Yari said.

Yari described his large airport reception as a show of support. He said the gathering was meant to demonstrate solidarity and offer prayers.

“The crowd is here to pray for me and for the success of Mr President. Our party is synonymous with keeping to our words,” he said.

Yari also prayed for God to grant Tinubu wisdom to lead Nigeria. He again assured Nigerians that the APC would fulfil its campaign promises.

The campaign council chief said the party would work to maintain Nigerians’ confidence. He added that the APC would remain focused on delivering its commitments.

Yari also looked beyond the 2027 election. He expressed hope that the APC would retain control of the Federal Government after Tinubu’s possible second term.

Within APC circles, Yari’s appointment is seen as a strategic move. The party hopes to strengthen its structures in the North and coordinate campaign activities ahead of 2027. His supporters point to his long experience in government and the legislature.

Yari served as Zamfara State governor before becoming chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum. The roles gave him experience in state administration and coordination among governors.

His appointment comes at a crucial stage in the APC 2027 campaign. The ruling party is stepping up nationwide mobilisation and working to consolidate support ahead of the general elections.
