Maduka University has officially admitted 967 new students during its third matriculation ceremony, marking steady progress in its commitment to delivering quality, forward-looking education.

The event took place at the university’s international stadium and attracted dignitaries, scholars, and stakeholders from across the South-East and other regions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chancellor and Founder Samuel Maduka Onyishi reiterated the institution’s long-term goal of building a sustainable, value-oriented university system. He described the university’s growth as a continuous journey rather than a short-term achievement, stressing that the focus remains on creating a conducive learning environment, not just increasing student numbers.

He also underscored the importance of innovation and technology in shaping the university’s academic structure, adding that strong institutions are built on vision, discipline, and core values.
In his matriculation lecture, Vice-Chancellor Samuel Chijioke Ugwu highlighted education as a key driver of sustainable development and institutional relevance. He noted that universities should go beyond awarding certificates and instead provide practical solutions.

According to him, sustainability requires consistent, responsible action aimed at meeting present needs without compromising the future.
He further called for curriculum reforms, encouraging institutions to embrace industry-focused and research-driven approaches that foster innovation, critical thinking, and real-world application.

The Vice-Chancellor also reaffirmed the university’s “new thinking” philosophy, which is centered on producing entrepreneurial graduates with strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
The ceremony marks the start of a new academic journey for the students, as the university continues to align its goals with global standards in education, innovation, and sustainability.
