Donald Trump has stated that Iran has a “final chance” to choose peace, even as Iranian authorities firmly denied any ongoing talks with the United States, labeling such reports as “fake news.”
The statement comes amid growing tensions in the Middle East, with Trump urging Tehran to take what he described as a last opportunity to prevent further escalation. He also indicated that negotiations—whether direct or through intermediaries—might be taking place and could yield progress.
In response, Iranian officials quickly dismissed the claims, maintaining that no discussions have occurred with Washington. Top figures in Tehran described the reports as false and accused the U.S. of spreading misleading information for political or strategic purposes.
These opposing accounts emerge at a time of escalating conflict that has already affected major global oil routes, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns about a wider regional crisis.
Although Trump has alluded to “constructive” engagements via third parties, Iranian leaders remain firm in their position, warning they are ready to retaliate against any military threats and will not negotiate under pressure.
While mediation efforts by other countries are said to be ongoing, the sharp contradictions between both sides leave the chances of immediate peace unclear.
