The Lagos State Taskforce has seized 70 commercial motorcycles following an enforcement operation in the Iyana-Iba area.
According to a statement released by the agency, the raid targeted key locations along the Lagos-Mile 2-Badagry Expressway, including Festac First Gate, Mazamaza, and Iyana-Iba.
The taskforce disclosed that several motorcycle operators were caught riding on restricted routes and disrupting traffic. Some were also allegedly involved in transporting illegal drugs and hazardous materials such as petrol (PMS) to neighbouring countries, while generally causing disturbances on major roads.
At the end of the operation, 70 motorcycles were impounded, and normalcy was restored to the affected areas.
The agency further stated that all seized motorcycles would be permanently forfeited to the state in line with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018, subject to court approval.
