Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has issued an ADC ethics code commitment for 2027 presidential race, urging all presidential aspirants on the platform of the African Democratic Congress to publicly endorse and uphold the party’s new Code of Ethics before the 2027 elections. He directly challenged prominent contenders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, to declare their support without hesitation.
The party recently unveiled its Governance Principles and Code of Ethics, widely referred to as The Orange Book, which outlines strict standards for leadership conduct. The document promotes integrity, accountability, transparency, and a firm rejection of corruption, vote-buying, and political godfatherism as core requirements for all aspirants under the ADC Code of Ethics framework.
Hayatu-Deen renewed his ADC ethics code commitment for 2027 presidential race stance in a public statement, describing the Orange Book as a landmark ethical guide for modern Nigerian politics. He emphasized that all aspirants must openly subscribe to its principles before seeking the party’s presidential ticket.
He described the Orange Book governance principles as a binding covenant that redefines public office as service rather than personal reward. According to him, the document rejects self-enrichment and political entitlement while placing national interest at the centre of leadership decisions.
Hayatu-Deen stressed that leadership under the 2027 presidential election ADC ethics code agenda must reflect measurable impact, discipline, and service delivery. He highlighted key provisions stating that leadership should be judged by lasting positive outcomes, not personal legacy building.
He also reaffirmed his personal pledge to follow the code fully, insisting that transparency and accountability must guide every aspirant. He called on all contestants in the ADC ethical leadership reform process to publicly commit to the same standards, arguing that Nigerian voters deserve leaders who respect ethical governance principles.
