The North Africans joined Haiti and Türkiye as the first nations to exit the tournament. All three teams failed to earn enough points to stay in contention for the knockout stage.
Tunisia’s campaign unraveled after a 5-1 loss to Sweden in their opening Group F game. The Carthage Eagles followed that result with another heavy defeat against Japan.
The 2026 World Cup eliminations list expanded as Tunisia failed to collect a single point from two matches. With only one game left, they can no longer qualify for the Round of 32.
In Philadelphia, Brazil eased past Haiti with a 3-0 win in Group C. The defeat confirmed Haiti’s exit from the competition.
Haiti remain bottom of the group with no points and a goal difference of minus four. Their final fixture against Morocco on June 24 will have no impact on qualification.
Türkiye also bowed out after losing 1-0 to Paraguay in Group D at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. The result left them with two defeats from two matches.
With zero points from their opening games, Türkiye can no longer progress despite having one match remaining.
