Super Falcons vs Senegal friendly matches: Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face Senegal in a double-header friendly in Ikenne as part of their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, using the matches to test tactics, assess players, and strengthen team cohesion.
The nine-time African champions are set to face the Teranga Lionesses on June 5 and June 8 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, as part of their build-up to the continental tournament scheduled for July.
The fixtures were confirmed on X by Super Falcons Show, which disclosed details of the matches and venue.
“Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, will face the Senegal Women’s National Team in a double-header international friendly on June 5 and 8,” the post stated.
“Both games will be played in Ikenne, Nigeria”
”The friendlies come after the cancellation of Nigeria’s proposed training tour of the United Kingdom, which was expected to include a match against Jamaica. The tour was called off due to scheduling issues surrounding FIFA’s official women’s international window, as clubs would not have been required to release players.
With the UK trip no longer happening, the Senegal clashes will give head coach Justine Madugu and his coaching crew the chance to evaluate players, test tactical approaches and improve team chemistry ahead of the WAFCON campaign and future qualification plans for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Senegal are expected to offer a strong challenge with their physical and organised style of play, providing Nigeria with a valuable test across both encounters.
The Super Falcons will hope to use the friendlies to sharpen their form as they target another continental triumph in Morocco next year.
