Top All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, have arrived in Osun State for the party’s mega rally in Osogbo.
Other leaders at the rally include Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
House of Representatives member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, also joined the party leaders ahead of the rally.
The APC mega rally forms part of the party’s final mobilisation drive for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s election, the News Agency of Nigeria reported.
The gathering is expected to boost the party’s campaign across Osun State. It will also bring together APC leaders, supporters and campaign coordinators from the state’s 30 local government areas.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed August 13 as the final day for campaign activities. The commission had moved the election date from August 8 to August 15.
The APC mega rally will give the party a final chance to demonstrate its strength before the campaign window closes at midnight on Thursday.
The party is also working to consolidate its support base. It aims to win over undecided voters and strengthen its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the poll.
