Tinibu Campaign: Accord Leaders Ask Adeleke to Clarify Politcal loyalty

Accord leaders urge Adeleke to clarify his political loyalty following reports that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke will coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign in the state.

The party leaders, Oke Sewedo and Oladeji Oluwatosin, made the demand in an open letter to Adeleke and the party’s national leadership. They signed the letter under the platform of Concerned Leaders of Accord, Lagos State.

The development has raised questions about Adeleke’s political position. He won the Osun governorship election on the Accord Party platform, while Tinubu belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Accord leaders urge Adeleke to explain how he intends to reconcile his reported campaign role with his membership of the party. They expressed concern that his involvement could weaken Accord’s position ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The leaders also warned that the situation could confuse party members and candidates seeking legislative seats under the Accord platform.

They said their concerns did not stem from personal disagreements with the governor. Instead, they want him to clarify his political commitments and responsibilities to the party.

The leaders urged Adeleke to reaffirm his loyalty to Accord if he intends to remain a member. They also asked him to reconsider his reported role in Tinubu’s campaign.

Furthermore, they called on Accord’s national leadership to address the issue openly. They want the party to engage Adeleke and clarify the implications of his reported appointment.

The leaders also urged the party to protect its candidates and reassure members about its political direction ahead of the elections.

Meanwhile, the APC has reportedly appointed other political figures, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, to coordinate Tinubu’s campaign in their respective areas.

The Accord leaders maintained that their appeal seeks to protect the party’s unity, credibility and electoral prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
