The Minister of Power has issued a public apology to Nigerians following the persistent challenges in electricity supply across the country.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the minister acknowledged the widespread frustration among citizens and businesses due to the unstable power situation, admitting that the current supply falls short of expectations.
He explained that several factors, including infrastructure limitations, gas supply constraints, and ongoing maintenance of transmission facilities, have contributed to the erratic power distribution being experienced nationwide.
The minister assured Nigerians that the federal government is actively working to address the issues, noting that efforts are underway to upgrade critical power infrastructure and improve generation capacity. He added that collaboration with stakeholders in the energy sector is being intensified to ensure more reliable electricity delivery.
“We understand the hardship this situation has caused, and we sincerely apologise to Nigerians. We are committed to making lasting improvements in the power sector,” the minister stated.
He further urged citizens to remain patient as reforms and interventions are being implemented, expressing optimism that the situation would gradually improve in the coming months.
The apology comes amid growing concerns from households and industries that rely heavily on stable electricity for daily operations, with many calling for urgent and sustainable solutions to the nation’s power challenges.
