Zack Orji Explains Support for Tinubu, Cites Competence

Veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, has publicly explained why he supported Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presidential election, stating that his decision was based on competence rather than ethnic considerations.

Speaking in a recent statement, Orji emphasized his Igbo identity while addressing criticisms over his political stance. “I am an Igbo man and I supported Tinubu because I believe he’s the most qualified among the presidential candidates in terms of competence to change the wraths in Nigeria,” he said.

The actor’s remarks come amid ongoing national conversations about leadership, governance, and unity following the elections. His position has sparked mixed reactions, particularly on social media, where opinions remain divided along political and regional lines.

Orji, known for his decades-long career in Nollywood, has been increasingly vocal on political matters in recent times, joining a list of public figures who have openly declared their support for political candidates.

Analysts say such endorsements by celebrities continue to influence public discourse, especially in a politically active environment like Nigeria, where issues of ethnicity, competence, and national development remain central to voter decisions.
