Sowore Criticizes Governor Otti, Labels Abia Leadership a “Failure”

A Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has strongly criticized the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, describing his administration as a failure.

Speaking in a recent statement, Sowore said he could “confirm to everyone” that Governor Otti has not lived up to expectations, accusing him of carrying out only “half transformation” in the state.

The outspoken activist alleged that the current administration’s efforts at development fall short of what Abia residents were promised, suggesting that progress in key sectors has been limited.

Sowore’s remarks add to the growing political discourse surrounding governance in Abia State, where opinions remain divided over the pace and impact of ongoing reforms.

However, supporters of Governor Otti argue that his administration has made significant strides since assuming office, particularly in infrastructure and public sector reforms, and insist that meaningful change takes time.

As debates continue, political observers say such criticisms are likely to shape public perception ahead of future electoral cycles in the state.
