Osun State University hostel raid reports have sparked concern after allegations that soldiers invaded students’ hostels, assaulted students, stole personal belongings, and sexually abused some female students.
Peter Obi said every Nigerian deserves dignity and respect. He added that the Armed Forces have earned respect through discipline, courage, and sacrifice, not by abusing the citizens they protect.
He urged the military high command to launch a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation into the allegations. He also called for the prosecution of any officer found guilty.
Peter Obi said Osun State University hostel raid allegations must not go unpunished. He stressed that holding offenders accountable would deliver justice to victims, protect the military’s reputation, and discourage future abuses.
He added that Nigeria must reject impunity and every form of abuse of power. According to him, a nation that protects human dignity strengthens public trust in its institutions.
